PHARMACIST PRESCRIBING FOR MINOR AILMENTS
At Chelmsford IDA Pharmacy, our pharmacists are authorized to prescribe for 19 minor ailments, which are health conditions that can be managed with minimal treatment and/or self-care strategies.

Additionally, for a medical condition to be considered a minor ailment, it must be:

Usually a short-term condition

Unlikely to require lab results

Low risk of treatment masking other underlying conditions

Absent medications or medical history red flags that suggest a more serious condition

Associated with minimal or only short-term required follow-up
